Vensim

It has been our honor and pleasure to provide our clients with the industry-leading System Dynamics and Systems Thinking software Vensim from Ventana Systems Inc. for nearly two decades. Great collaboration with the manufacturer, software stability and excellent price/performance ratio make Vensim a highly desirable product for which we provide all sales and after-sales support. The software is modern, reliable and easy to use thanks to the work of the lead developer, Tony Kennedy. We exclusively serve clients from all the countries marked in red on the map in Figure 1. Vensim is designed for both soft-phase projects (Systems Thinking), in all its versions you can easily create beautiful looking causal loop diagrams, and for creating flow diagrams - dynamic models (System Dynamics). Vensim comes in four versions, ranging from PLE with basic features to the DSS simulation suite, which includes advanced features and tools for creating complete dynamic simulators including sensitivity analysis, optimization, Markov chains, etc.
   The great news for anyone who wants to master Systems Thinking and System Dynamics is that the Personal Learning Edition of Vensim is available for free for personal, non-commercial use! Our instructional literature and beginner courses are written in such a way that the PLE version fully covers all the functions and procedures taught. Unlike most free licenses, Vensim PLE is not limited in any way in the number of features, time or otherwise. For commercial and research use, however, a license must be purchased for the PLE version as well.

The articles explaining the basics of Systems Thinking and System Dynamics are supplemented with diagrams and models created and simulated in Vensim. The user interface is available in English, Czech, German, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese. Currently version 9 is available, which requires MS Windows version 10 or higher, if you are an apple fan we will supply you with macOS installations.

Vensim comes in various configurations depending on the application and the type of organization for which you want to purchase license, but the main activity of the organization (academic, research) may not be the deciding factor. Only Vensim PLE is available free of charge for personal and academic use. All other configurations must be purchased. In general, licenses can be divided into the following four groups according to the purpose of use:

Academic use refers to the use of Vensim in classroom teaching. For research purposes, you can use the "Public Research" license if the results of your research are published and the models created under the research license are made available to the public free of charge. If the results of your research are subject to any level of confidentiality or will not be made public for other reasons, the Public Research licenses cannot be used and commercial licenses must be obtained. This applies, for example, to our university clients with military programs. Commercial licenses must be purchased for commercial use, consulting activities, and unpublished research.

Vensim is capable of simulating the behavior of any dynamic system, and has been and is used in all areas of human activity, from business applications to public policy to research projects. Try it out for yourself, the link to the academic and personal version of the PLE is below. The installation is only available to registered and logged-in users of our site, according to the manufacturer's rules; you can find the download file in our store here. Vensim includes over 200 features, if you felt lost after running it for the first time, let us know. We will teach you how to use Vensim in our training programs and literature. However, many of the unique study materials can only be obtained in courses, they are not available for purchase separately.
